I want Emma to know that her beauty is not defined by what she wears, but what she is- what her hands do.
Everyday she is growing, learning, becoming- I am not only her mentor, but her mother. What I say to her will be her measuring stick. How I view my own beauty will be her point of reference.
Emma has been blessed to have many women in her life that #speakbeautiful words- I thank them....

Sarah
What is it about a woman's hands that make her beautiful?

Fashion that binds us
The fashion of the 1920's opened a new door to women. After World War I, a fervor of celebration exploded- the war was over and the United States was a world leader.
Women entered the workforce in record number and their fashion reflected their new lifestyle. Flapper hair and flapper hats were the latest fashion craze. While the fashion became somewhat "boyish" feminine elegance remained.
I have always been in love with the fashion of the 1920's. I am so grateful to Karynn of Bloom Shoot Photography for taking on this project. It was by far the most artistic and creative experience of which I have been apart.
Doesn't every girl remember "dressing up" in mommy's clothes and heels? I will treasure this experience of playing "dress up" with "My Emma." The bond between a mother and daughter is unlike any other!
We had the best time shopping for the "photo shoot" Emma's hat is an authentic 1920's hat bought at Urban Renewal as was my dress, gloves and Emma's jewelry.
To embrace time is to make a memory-- today, yesterday, and forever!

1920's Mother's Day
I have always dreamed a being a flapper or at least a Mormon version of such. This Mother's Day I pay tribute to my mother in law who always exudes fashion and femininity. She "dared" the "roarin' twenties" with me and entered Karynnn's magical world of artistry as we "traveled through time" with Emma.
The result was "Epic" but even more so the experience was unimaginable.
More pics to follow this week at KEPT!

The heart and hands of a mother- Laurel
We here at Kept Pay tribute to mothers past and present this month and recognize that true beauty begins with the heart... the spirit- what we wear on our mortal body is merely an accessory!

Kinzi Jo
Life has a way of handing us the unexpected and sometimes the undesirable- its what we do with it that creates our character.
Kinzi enjoys the world of the writer and the photographer-- her would be "bucket list." But in her present world she dances as the tulips, sharing the joy of her smile and perhaps a little mischief. She lives in the world of discovery
The green hue of Kinzi's dress is the perfect complement to her eyes. The dress with the lace overlay creates the feminine touch
