Love in the Afternoon

Fall in Love with Fashion in the 1957 romantic American Comedy starring Audrey Hepburn and Gary cooper.  Set in Paris, this films pairs naive cellist with America Playboy.  In the end Hepburn, Ariane, steals the heart of unattainable Mr. Flanagan.

However, it is the Hepburn's fashion which stole my heart.   The Paris influence is "Lady Chic."  My favorite fashion from this film were the sleeveless dress with the white gloves, the strapless tulle evening gown, and Hepburn's picnic attire- cardigan paired with pedal pushers.   Simple fashion-- when ladies were ladies....

                 Throwback Thursday-  Over the course of generations women have loved fashion. Fashion is creative, fashion is fun, fashion is inspirational.  Fashion is a  medium for  self expression. 

 The latest fashion trends are a mere re creation of those past.  Take a look-- this picture showcases women from all generations.  Each has her own look- her own beauty.

Which is your favorite?  Mine is worn by my Great Aunt, "little Beth," (middle front row).

Her spring palette is the soft yellow cardigan paired with the pink and yellow floral dress with the belt. Her class look plays well with the purple lilacs.

Perfect in Purple!  Kelly warms the winter air in her purple luster. Accessorized with a fun polka dot scarf this cozy long sleeved purple shirt can be dressed up or down.  The black skirt and mid calf boot ground Kelly's impeccable style.

ohh la la!

Kelly's photogenic nature echoes her personality- simply put she is FUN! By day she is an Administrative assistant, but in her "spare" time as a wife and mother to three handsome sons, Kelly is often found at a sports arena cheering on her team.    

Real beauty is rare and so is genuine friendship... Kelly shares both.  An absolute joy to be around Kelly is a woman who "knows!"

How to Steal A Million Dollars

I fell in love with the Audrey Hepburn's fashion in the 1966 film, How to Steal A Million Dollars.  While filmed in the 1960's, this film has the feel of the late 20's early 30's and foreshadows the films of the 1960's.

Hepburn is a walking fashion model in the film and will forever stand as a fashion icon.  My personal favorite outfit in the film was her rain boots (well done Hunter boots) paired with her nightgown and parka...

Don't be afraid to add a little Hepburn to your closet-- you can never go wrong!

Heidi

January ushers in a new year.  Outside snowflakes fall covering the ground with a white blanket of snow signaling a new beginning.  That's what Heidi is all about... moving forward.

The joy of a new day.  Heidi embraces each one with a sense of grandeur.  Style is gift. 

Heidi's January look warms the New Year chill and readies her for Valentine's. She layers a long sleeved striped T with a beautiful bold red sweater which she  accessorizes with the latest craze- a plaid scarf.  Paired with  classy jeans and an adorable printed heel, Heidi's  look is both elegant and casual.

However, it is her eyes that complete her personal style.  They hold the mystery. It is one of strength and courage, and of tenderness and compassion.  Her faith always undaunted. 

As a devoted wife and a loving mother to three sons and one daughter, Heidi goes above and beyond in all she does.  Her hands serve and love those around her endlessly.  They are her staple accessory.

           Trudi's quiet beauty lays claim to the kindest of hearts.   

Her holiday looks slides  easily into winter days.  Neutrals make it big this season.  Trudi's polka dot top layered with the classic white cami pairs well with her classic jeans and her shimmer gray ballet slippers.

A pop of color always steals the show.  This vintage red purse intoxicates the eyes and is the perfect accessory for the upcoming Valentine's Day.

As a wife and mother of three, Trudi also partners with her husband in their construction company and is the office manager of the family's real estate company.  She has beauty and brains.

To call Trudi friend is the greatest of treasures!  Her quiet waters run deep... and her pool of friends is vast.  Loyalty and beauty two qualities which are becoming rare remain a staple accessory for Trudi.

New Year Faves....

Winter white= Hunter boots

I love it when it snows that means I can pull on my red Hunter Boots.  Thanks to a white Christmas I have been sporting them a lot.  It makes me so happy.  While I don't live in a particularly rainy area, I think snow counts-- I simply pair them with wool socks.  They have been the perfect companion to my New Year Faves.  

What are you favorite New Year Faves?  I have fallen in love with Gap's Legging Skimmers.  While they give the skinny jean look, they are so much more comfortable without confinement.

Santa also brought cute hubby and I matching Gap sweaters (hubby loves matching, ha, ha) they are paired with the Skimmers. By the way not everyday you get a photo shoot at the edge of Tuweep.
