California Redwood Fashion

What I'm wearing-beanie (Love Winnie James), jacket and scarf (Indigo and Sage), yellow puffer vest and jean leggings (gap), black boots (Just Fab)... scenery not included!

 I haven't been to the California Redwoods in 20 plus years.  We woke up Monday morning and decided  to return to our honeymoon spot more 20 and 1/2 years ago- only this time with 5 kids in tote.  I have not been disappointed and the forest captivated our children as well!  The beauty of these giants has held a spell on me all of these years. The scenery for the shoot definitely makes the fashion!

Fashion New Year's Resolution- Go Vintage

 Of course, the hat tops off a killer look all found at Poser's Place-  fitted pants, scarf, sweater, and top (my mom would call it a blouse).

 There is nothing better during the holidays than a little get away and Julene in this vintage find is ready for a beach side get away- aren't you?

The is definitely a "happy holiday" for  fashion look.  What a great way to kick off the new Year--- travel and fashion.  Make your New Year's Resolution- GO VINTAGE!

Need a break from the bustle... go vintage

As a writer, I look for the perfect words and the perfect placement of each word in each sentence I create.  Getting dressed each morning is no different-- my staple items are my nouns and verbs and my accessories are my adjectives and adverbs-- Brenna made my writing easy!

 The latest "in" accessory this winter is the "poncho trend." While originally the poncho traces its roots as a traditional item of clothing in Peru,  women all over the world are making it a "come back."  Ponchos can be found in all fabrics and colors and is worn as a replacement for scarves.  Brenna found this adorable poncho at our local vintage store, Poser's Place on Main.

 Shopping Vintage is the perfect break from the aisles and aisles of clothing and displays that just simply look "the same."  Shopping at Poser's Place is "eye candy."

 Paired with combat boots, a chambray top and skinny jeans, Brenna tops off this look with a vintage piece of jewelry- perfection!

Saturday Sanity with Winnie James

 Less than a week to go and the count down is on for last minute shopping.  Thursday, me and hubby spent a marathon day shopping for our five kiddos-- can I just say I still have a shopping hangover.  After a while it just starts to look the same.  How happy I am to just "click clack" Winnie James!

 Killer look- this Alexis Hooded Jacket was paired above with the black everyday dress-  I am so in love with it!

The Pom Pom is back-- this fur Pom Beanie tops my list of "must haves" for the Holidays.

Marvelous Monday at KEPT

I have this dress and I love it- I wore mine to church and dressed it up with a scarf... perfectly perfect!

 It's a totally a blizzard out today.  Thankfully, I am here click clacking away and can enjoy the beautiful snow from the window.  My Marvelous Monday picks come from Indigo and Sage- three women, three looks- all perfect

I love the "glam" of this holiday party look- the sequins are perfect for the holidays!

and for the more casual look the baseball T is a must. I love how each of these girls wear this look-  dressed up, casual, and  already for "fun."  I wish I would have got one--- not to late for me or you .... Follow Indigo and Sage on Instagram!

Throwback Thursday... Poser's Place Style

 

 Ohh.... I so wish I was here again to day hangin' with Brenna.  Brenna pulled off this polyester perfectly pairing it with tights and combat style boots.  She is totally vintage chic!

In Case you don't know reader, Brenna and I are cousins and she is Beautiful, and talented and an amazing mother and woman (she got all the good Weaver genes).  She coached me through the pics I took of her! Brenna is our resident photographer at KEPT while Karynn is away.  

I love Brenna's dress she is wearing and the one she is standing by!

 Watch out "Jackie O!" I love this look from the '50's.  Feminine and stylish and totally classy.  Kept can't wait to return to Poser's Place!

Winter Wonderland

 I love it when I can take a break from the "crazy of life" and catch a breath of fresh air.  To feel the snow crunch underfoot as I wandered a lonely road was medicinal!  And of course wearing my red hunter boots made it perfect!

My daughter Emma has decided to take up photography... didn't she do great?  Enjoy the holiday season, but don't forget to find some fresh air and a lonely road!

Lovin' the holidays!

What I love...So, I must admit I am a Frank Sinatra fan and especially at Christmas time.  I also love it when I get to see Christmas through the lens of Brenna Burrows Photography- this shoot with Indigo and Sage had me humming Sinatra's "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas."  The venue for the shoot was absolutely amazing as well.  Notice the design and color- perfect for the season.

Go Vintage for Thanksgiving

 Go Vintage or Go home this holiday season.... We had the perfect afternoon playing "Dress up" at Poser's Place, a quaint little vintage shop downtown.  Julene found a treasure for Thanksgiving dinner and the perfect shoes to match!  And of course the price was a steal...

 The best thing about shopping vintage is that you are certain to find no one else dressed like you--- I love this look on Julen!

 This beautiful vintage lace dress looks as if it was made for her...

What are you wearing this holiday season?

 It happened- the first snow of the season, the first cup of cocoa, and the first seasonal song.  I have been hit by the spirit of Christmas.  I'm loving it!

Em and I had the funnest evening with Brenna Burrows Photography in her adorable studio making the season bright with her "holiday mini session."  

But in preparation for the shoot, we had to do a "little shopping."

 We purchased our adorable hats from TJ Maxx, Em is wearing leggings from Indigo and Sage, her white shirt is from Down East and the cardigan is from The Gap.  I have on an ensemble from Indigo and Sage as well.  I love the comfort of this outfit-- the leggings are amazing and I love the tunic style of the top without feeling like I am wearing a tent- the vest totally completes this holiday look!

While I love our four sons, there is nothing like having a daughter! Thanks Brenna for capturing this memory! Happy Holidays everyone!  Xo, KEPT!

They wear Courage...The Mother Runners

Love these ladies- love that they wear courage.  After all, fashion is fun, but its what is on the inside that counts.  This past summer, Nena, we will call her the ringleader, began to assemble two teams for the Las Vegas Ragnar.  And she did it- two teams, 24 women, 19 of them from within a two mile radius.  They each are amazing.  They each have their own story of strength and triumph and they put that zeal to the pavement going nearly two nights without sleep and running 3 legs each of the relay ( meaning they each ran anywhere from 13.1 miles to 23.4 miles) and  200 miles combined.

They called themselves the " MOTHER RUNNERS."   I haven't even dared count how many children they have combined--- A LOT!  Some of them were previous runners and some had to begin from the ground up- but they did it!  I think Victoria Secret is Right on "Strong is the New Beautiful."  These women are definitely both.

(*My schedule didn't permit me to join them.  I was off chasing a big 4x7 buck in the Nevada mountains.- maybe next time, but I must say I prayed for them!)

 Outside my front window, the Southern Utah Snow is steadily falling in the most beautiful large flakes.  I am at the computer shopping at Love Winnie James.  It's an online women's and baby boutique created by my cousin Sharee and her friend Noelle.  Of course with those brilliant flakes falling fast outside, I need to warm up my closet  a little.  

I am completely in love with these three LWJ  looks.  This buffalo check tunic works well with these solid fleece lined leggings and of course I love the Hunter boots- I may need to invest in some navy ones as well. The Alexis Hooded jacket keeps the style functional and the  look is topped off with this adorable mustard slouchy beanie (I just ordered me a navy one)!

 The next looks is a striped hoodie paired (ordered this as well) with some navy fleece line leggings, navy hunter boots, striped beanie and the must have crimson harvard vest- I am warm already!

These leggings scream holiday cheer with the red,blue and green...Love them!   Don't be afraid to add them to your winter wardrobe- I am going to--
